Discovery UMAP Camp Winter 2023: The Globe (Global Bound & Exchange): Discover Indonesia - Program Details

UMAP Discovery Camp 2023: The Globe (Global Bound & Exchange) Discover Indonesia is a joint program collaboration between Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya & Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) Semarang. The program will be held on 5 – 17 February 2023 in Surabaya & Semarang, Indonesia. The program aims to provide UMAP students the insight about Indonesia through exploration of Surabaya and Semarang. The participants would have insight and experience related to technology development in society, city development, culture, art, food and society interaction. ITS will expose participants to the implementation of SDGs 4-8-10-11-17 in Surabaya City, particularly City Council for Population Administration and Civil Registration, City Office for Education, and City Office for Cooperation and Micro Enterprises. The program will provide SDGs related courses, site visit to the government offices, case studies, and project. The use of technology in achieving sustainability post pandemic will be the highlight. In addition, participants will be given opportunities to learn Indonesian traditional instruments and martial arts. Unissula will provide seminar on SDGs 4-5-11-16 in the context of Semarang City, particularly related to Semarang as a peaceful multi-religion city, resilient city and community, and the role of women as front liners against pandemic. In addition, participants will be provided with basic Indonesian language class, batik shirt making, and traditional dancing course. The joint program between ITS in East Java and Unissula in Central Java will definitely offer a great opportunity for participants to discover Indonesia through this program.
