Introduction of OICA
Our school is actively promoting internationalization and the development of students' international mobility. The scale of the Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium has expanded from four to five schools, including University of the West (UWEST) in the United States, Nantin University (NTU) in Australia, Guang Ming University (GMU) in the Philippines. In addition, the universities of Taiwan, Nan Hua University (NHU) in Taiwan and Fo Guang University (FGU) are able to develop a wider range of opportunities for language learning, cultural exchange and academic cooperation.
In order to provide outstanding students with more opportunities for study abroad and short-term overseas study, the Division continues to encourage students to go to sister schools abroad. In 1997, we began to sign exchange agreements with sister schools in South Korea, the U.S., Japan, Australia, and other countries. The university has student academic exchange contracts with institutions in Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, the United States, and other countries. In addition, we have academic exchange agreements with Nanjing University and Renmin University of China, which are part of the 985 program, and with National Taichung University and Nanchang University, which are part of the 211 program. The company has signed academic exchange and cooperation agreements with other universities, including Yunnan University, Northwestern University, and other famous universities.
Every year, we organize short-term study tours to foreign universities during summer and winter vacations, such as the study tours to University of the West in the U.S., Cambridge University in the U.K., South Korea, and the United States. In addition to the language study, we also spent time on cultural tours and visits to scenic spots in China. In addition to language study, we also make use of our free time to make cultural visits and visit scenic spots to experience the customs and cultures of various places. Through this, we aim to broaden our worldview.
In principle, students can study at Fo Guang University in Taiwan for two years. They can then spend two years at the University of the West with a Taiwan registration fee. After completing the relevant courses, completing the credits, and meeting the graduation thresholds of both universities, you will receive two university diplomas from FGU and UWEST.
If you want to go abroad for studying, go to the International and Cross-Strait Affairs Office, Room 305, Yunqi Building, and let us know which international education program you are interested in!
Sincerely,
The OICA team
